Note: If you are doing this course on your own, please consider doing 1 unit each week. This gives you plenty of time to live with and internalize the material. At this pace, you can go though the entire course in 22 weeks. Follow the instructions below to get the maximum benefit from the material.
The text for this course has been boiled down to its essence. Please do not read it quickly or when you are preoccupied with other things. Please center yourself and read the words slowly. Read each paragraph two or three times aloud and let the words sink in. Write down in your journal any phrases or sentences that speak deeply to you and use them as mantras so that you can internalize those words and feel their vibration as you go through the next couple of days. That is how the words ‘become flesh,” and the Christ energy permeates your heart and mind.
This is not ordinary reading. It is a reading of scripture. The message comes from Jesus as a guide and a teacher and we want to receive it deeply.
If there are words that trigger you or challenge you, make a note of them and inquire into what the trigger means for you.
When we read the text, we ask three important questions:
1. What is the meaning of these words?
2. How do they speak to my unique situation and how can I apply them to the challenges I face?
3. What spiritual practice do they invite me to engage in?
When you have completed each unit, make time to review the Ideas to Ponder, answer the Questions and come to class prepared to share your experiences.
