Healing our Childhood wounds and traumas is a life-long process. We have to understand where our fear and our shame come from and the beliefs and reactive behaviors that resulted from them. We have to see how we have given our power away or usurped the power of others in the search for acceptance and love. We have to understand that we have created a false self that is bound to disintegrate sooner or later, like Humpty Dumpty falling off the wall. And then we will have the awesome task of finding out who we really are and learning to live a life that honors us. We will learn, however long it takes, to listen to our guidance and follow our heart so that we can find joy in each moment. We will learn to establish good boundaries and to let go of unhealthy relationships that lead to self-betrayal or the betrayal of others.
As we heal, we create equal relationships with others, experience genuine community, and gradually discover our life purpose. That is when we move from the Healing Phase to the Empowerment Phase of our Life Journey.
